– Available! Human-Environment Seminar in Spring 2021

All graduate students and advanced undergrads are welcome to take the new environment-society seminar that Karl will teach in Spring 2021. The seminar will focus on “nexus” integrative approaches that provide advances beyond technical FEWS frameworks. It will cover nexus approaches involving societal resource transformations (land/food/biodiversity, water/climate change, urbanization) and justice at the expanding interfaces with energy.

– Gabriel and Megan Special Issue on Agrobiodiversity Change in Geoforum

Lab members Gabriel Tamariz and Megan Baumann have co-organized and are co-editing and leading a special forthcoming issue of the journal Geoforum on ‘Agrobiodiversity Change in Conflict and Post-Conflict Landscapes’. Their own papers and others report new research on dynamics and transformations of agrobiodiversity use and change amid the agrarian struggles and violence of conflict and post-conflict societies. The first paper in Gabriel and Megan’s special edited issue has been published and others will follow. Stay tuned!
