– Karl’s new research on agrobiodiversity, COVID, food systems, and urban agriculture

Karl has expanded new research and publications on COVID and food insecurity, the agrobiodiversity-food system-global change nexus, and urban agriculture. Ongoing work with three research teams has led to publications in Food Security, Geoforum, and Land (a special issue on migration-land system interactions) as well as the Grand Challenges article and founding editorship of Urban Agriculture that resides in the umbrella Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems journal. Urban Agriculture, whose editorial board includes Martha Bell (PhD 2012), is welcoming new submissions. During fall 2021, Karl has been teaching the First-Year Seminar on Food, Environment, and Society as well as the introductory graduate course on Geographic Inquiry (Geog 500), which is pictured below.
