GeoSyntheSES was represented recently in the spectacular setting of Huaraz, nestled between Peru’s renowned Cordilleras Blanca and Negra, when nearly 1500 persons gathered August 11 in the municipal auditorium of this Andean city for the 4-day Forum on Tropical Glaciers and Mountain Ecosystems organized by Peruvian policymakers, research scientists, and civil society representatives. Karl presented the invited keynote address on “Cambio Climático y Agrobiodiversidad Relacionado Con La Seguridad y Soberanía Alimentaria” (“Climate Change and Agrobidoiversity in Relation to Food Security and Sovereignty”). INAIGEM plans to publish the keynote talks and Karl’s presentation and GeoSyntheSES Lab contributions are scheduled to be a featured news story at Penn State.
