Welcome to the GeoSyntheSES Lab! It stands for Geographic Syntheses for Social Ecological Sustainability. Issues of sustainability and social-ecological systems are central to the lab’s emphasis. “Syntheses” refers to the integration of activities in the realm of biogeophysical dynamics using ecological and environmental sciences with human systems involving the social sciences and humanities. The Lab specializes in selective integrative frameworks based on environment and society geography as well as interdisciplinary fields.
